Not sure what Sensormatic is, but the current Die Hard DVDs (as far as I know), are the wide 2-disc sets, similar to the Star Trek SEs. I know that Fox has been repackaging their SEs though, so they may have put it into something different.

All great answers but when you goto the site and search for the box set thats what it reads.

Die Hard Box (3 Disc) (Sensormatic)

Maybe Sensormatic describes the cardboard box they come in? From the picture on the website, though, the Sensormatic one is the one you want.

its just a box though right, likr Indiana Jones each dvd has a keep case?

FinkPish 03-20-04 08:51 PM

Right, no foldout thingie, if that is your worry. BTW, I checked out Sensormatic's website, and it looks like they make the little black strips that show up inside the cases to prevent shoplifting. Not sure why they would use that to identify the box, though.

cool

This is a glitch that shows up once in awhile with Best Buy, as someone mentioned before, it is just a security tag. Means nothing.

Mr. Salty 03-21-04 02:07 AM

Titles are available for merchants to order with a couple of different types of security devices, or none at all. Sensormatic seems to be the most common. Sometimes that gets left in the description that ends up on the Web site.

Mr. Salty is correct. The only difference between a Sensormatic release and one w/out it is the little black magnetic strip.. 99.9% of releases have a sensormatic in it, though, they just don't list it.

Sensormatic and checkpoint are the two most common type of security tags. Stores order by the type of thingy they have at the door to set them off.

You'll sometimes see the two security versions listed in Guzzlefish, too. Basically there are two major security tag companies, Sensormatic, and CheckPoint. Best Buy uses Sensormatic.

So don't worry - the discs are the same.

ok one more question is there a differance between the box set and if you were to buy each 2 disk edition seperatly?

Columbia House has all 3 films only seperatly with the same specs

Yes - a cardboard box.

Get them through CH and you can save yourself a bit of money. The discs are exactly the same.

Besides the cardboard box (which is gorgeous IMO), it does not have UPC at the back of the 3 DVDs. At least the earlier printing does not. Of course, the DVDs for sale individually have UPC on them.

I have the Die Hard series in the Fox 5 Star Edition, is this currently the best transfer or is the box set better?

As was stated above - the discs are exactly the same.

So the transfer in the box is better. ;)
