Matome, are those DVD's double-rowed??? Holy crap. What are all those componetns you have?
|
Originally posted by Quake1028 Thanks . Also, would it be smarter to place three seperate orders? I am guessing so. Anyway, to answer your original question in more detail... ...from Sideshow's website: Will you charge me when I place my pre-order? Pre-ordering No, Sideshow will not charge your card at the time you place your pre-order. We only charge your card for the purchase when it arrives into our warehouse and begins to ship. You can also cancel you Pre-order with us at anytime, without penalty. As for your second question, they ship stock when it becomes available so most likely they will ship items separately. I don't know exactly the best method to save money but it will probably end up costing the same in the long run. :) |
Yeah, I kinda did, doh!
Anywho, I saw that about pre-orders, but didn't know if it was the same for backordered stuff. Here's what I bought, btw: The Return of the King Collectibles: The Balrog of Moria - $150.00 Fellowship of the Ring Collectibles Series 1: Gandalf the Grey Figure - $125.00 Fellowship of the Ring Collectibles Series 2: Legolas Greenleaf Figure - $125.00 Modern Horror Classics: Freddy Krueger Nightmare - $40 (Christmas present for my brother) And I also put my name on the waiting list for the Sauron figure (my God  ). |

Your doomed now!!! ...And you thought collecting dvds was addictive... Good luck. You'll be craving sold out statues once you get your hands on your 1st. Then your at the mercy of ebay sellers. I recently sold my other cave troll for $1,350. If you have excel you can download this checklist I put together: http://www.cyberplugs.com/dgc/ssw.xls Enjoy your new addiction. |

Those prices are insane. I would LOVE the Witch King, Gimli, Aragorn and others, but I can't afford those prices, so I am safe. One question, where do you buy the swords? |
We just moved into a new house, so I'm using a small bedroom for my movie room, but I would eventually like to redo the basement. Things are a little cramped.

icruise:
Your HT is an Panasonic 900?? |
Yes, the DVD player/surround sound system is a Panasonic SC-HT900. I'm pretty happy with it, given the price and ease of setup.
The TV is a 50" Samsung DLP (HLN507W). I just got it a couple of months ago, and watching DVDs is a whole new experience with it. |
how much was it icruise?
|
Expensive... But Circuit City did have a 10% off sale on at the time.
By the way, I like the "Now Playing" signs that some people have. However, I'd like some kind of stand that can help me remember what discs I have in my 5-disc changer (and in what order). Any suggestions? |
icruise, I think it's been asked already in this thread but I don't feel like looking for it (21 pages!!!), but what are all those orange DVD cases?
|
Star Trek the Original Series.

Boston George, How do those Grado SR-80s sound. Thought about these for a while but never got to try them?

Originally posted by LorenzoL Kudos to your collection Matome. Do you mind posting a link to your collection? <b>Matome, are those DVD's double-rowed??? Holy crap. A Yamaha RX-V1 receiver, Sony DVL900 DVD player (main), Panny DMR-HS2 DVD recorder, Panny 5-DVD changer (for TV sets), JVC S-VHS VCR (not all the good porn is out on DVD), Two Daewoo 3000n all-code DVDs (got one free when I bought the TV), JVC amplified video switcher. |
Awesome stuff Matome. Out of pure curiosity, what is the need for 2 VCRs and 3 DVD players? :)
|
It's just one VCR. I use the Sony DVD as my main movie playing one. The Panny changer holds discs from multiple TV shows since I like to watch several series at a time to mix it up (currently Freaks & Geeks, Buffy S6 and Good Times S2). It's got last viewed memory for each disc so I don't lose my place in episodes and don't have to keep swapping discs out. One all-code player is hooked directly to the DVD recorder for converting those non-R1 NTSC discs so I can play them on my R1 portable and Sony (do that with my computer burner now, pretty much). The other one was free and it's hooked up to the main system. Guess it just boils down to me being lazy. :)

icruise, pretty slick set up... Nice.

icruise...I am a big fan of that TV....looks REALLY SHARP!
