I'm thinkin about putting two holes in the wall on both sides of my big screen from ceiling to floor and building bookcase like shelves like the one you have.

Gotta do the cost vs. benefits econ thing first though.

Here's a link to my photos:

My digital camera broke, so I've done the next best thing - the first three images are renders using 3D Architect 6.0! Compare the first image to the last photo and let me know what you think! I updated things in the room like the DVD shelves and the like, but they're pretty close.

Thanks steebo! Hard to believe I only got the software 2 WEEKS ago!! I've been using 3D Architect, TurboCAD, and 3DS Max to create most of the objects you see. I built the audio and TV racks, the torchier lamp, the speakers, the turntable, the ottoman, and the IKEA bookshelves! I only need to build a SuperNintendo, a 3DO, and a Genesis and I'm done!

I'm not familiar with Architect 6.0 or anything similiar but must say those images are freakin' sweet.

DVD-ho78(DTS)...

Thanks! I'm practicing more and more each day to create better objects to put in there. I was let down by older products because you were stuck with the objects they gave you. I finally have the chance to create "real" ones that look exactly like my stuff.

Nice thing too - you can save each object in a library and copy or move them!

I wish I knew about these LOTR statues earlier because they are quite nice. I would have loved to get the Ringwraith and Steed Statue.

Do you mean this picture?

It's the Geek,.... I mean Gimli in me ...

Yeah, the statues are a big hit. Probably the number one LOTR collectible. Sold out statues are going for major bucks on ebay.

I recently sold one of my cave trolls for $1,350. I originally paid $300. I'm tempted to sell the 2nd.

BTW, nice renderings. A friend of mine does it for a living. He also uses Autocad. Many of his clients are architectual firms.

That is most definitely the one.

That Cave Troll Statue is pretty sweet but the money from that could fund some future purchases. There aren't a whole lot of statues I want especially with the prices on eBay. Sauron looks to be the best one but that remains to be seen. The ones I'd like to have so far are:

Sauron - Have two on order
Morgul Lord
Ringwraith & Steed
Gandalf the White

Thanks dgc!

I'm playing with more software now - it's a new creative outlet! When I can display a 3D walkthrough of the room I'll post it!

Does anyone know if Sideshow Weta charges on backorder items when the order is placed or when it ships? I want to order Legolas and Gandalf the Grey along with pre-ordering the new Balrog statue, so I just want to make sure.

The TV is the 50" HLM5065w, their first gen DLP set I got a couple of years ago. Great TV. Now I wish, I had waited since they have a 61" for almost the same price I paid for mine. The rack I got years ago and I customized it for my components. The Kill Bill box is the Japanese R2 limited edition.

To my knowledge, Sideshow only charges once the item ships. Pre-order, back order makes no diff.
