Lynch's WILD AT HEART
Does anybody have any information re: Wild at Heart on DVD???
Also, will ERASERHEAD ever be available for sale in stores? Why have neither of these been released yet?? Any help or info would be much appreciated |
No offense, since your a new member and all....but USE A QUESTION MARK.
Thanks... |
Eraserhead has been released. Its availible through Lynch's website. No plans yet for Wild at Heart.

from dugpa.com...
Wild at Heart US DVD Status David is finishing the color timing of the new transfer. The soundtrack will most likely be the original LCRS mix. It seems that Lynch is no longer interested in doing any more 5.1 mixes of his older films. One thing however is that other than a great transfer, unlike MGM's Blue Velvet Special Edition DVD, this DVD will have no extras or documentaries. If you would like to see MGM make this DVD release a Special Edition like the Blue Velvet Special Edition DVD, I urge you to send your letters of support to: [email protected] |
I got the Region 2 DVD - 2.35 anamorphic, 5.1 sound.
Sweet.... |
The R2 dvd is very good. Wild at Heart is my favorite Lynch movie and I couldn't wait wait for it. If you are region free, it is certainly worth picking up.
|
Wild at Heart has an impressive Region 3 (NTSC) or Region 2 Europe (PAL) transfer.
|
I'm thinking of getting a region-free player just to buy "Wild at Heart" and "Lost Highway".

What ever happened to the super long extended cut of WAH that Lynch promised SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Long ago!?
Arrrgggghhhh! :frankie: Back when I was still buying Laserdiscs he was talking about a four to five hour long version of this movie, mostly comprised of Sailor and Lula on the road. Lynch, Your a jerk for getting my hopes up! |

What are the extras on the R2 and R4 versions?

Originally posted by Josh Z It has both picture and sound. |
Special Features:
Color Widescreen Format Scene selection Full-Color Insert Animated Menus Collectable Box Art |
In other words, no special features at all.

Originally posted by Tyler_Durden In other words, no special features at all. Scene selection? Full-Color Insert??? What more could you possibly want from a DVD? Ha, ok on a side note, while I love Lynch's work, I do wish he would adopt the DVD format with a little more love. His films are just...not getting released, and his no chapter selection thing is fairly inane (you can get around that, so why not just make it easy on us?). But let's get them out! And how bout NOT charging $50 for Eraserhead? Then I'd buy the damn thing. Argh... |
Whoa!

Or at least that has pushed it to the bottom of my to-get list. |
And what about the great extra of chapters?
Lynch doesn't want those on his USA DVDs (Elephant Man and Mulholland Dr. don't have them) so that's a special extra! |
The only extra I need on WAH is the film itself. As with Eraserhead and almost all of Lynch's work, no all of it, the films themselves are the only thing that matter on the DVDs. You don't buy a painting for the frame or an album for the liner notes.

Originally posted by Apocrypha You don't buy a painting for the frame My point is that your frame anology is a bit flawed...I think mine is more appropriate. Your analogy would work if you were talking about not buying a movie because of the DVD packaging tho. |
