The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie Will Be Widescreen 1.85 Zorba Full Screen

Davis DVD corrected an earlier post:

20th Century Fox's The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie will be released with a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. Despite our best efforts to officially confirm Zorba the Greek's video specs, it looks like it will be presented in its correct 1.33:1 aspect ratio with a new fullscreen transfer. Stay tuned if anything changes.

THIS MAKES NO SENSE! I saw this in the theatres, so the OAR has to be 1:85! Sounds like foolscreen to me!!!!

I've seen 1.33:1 movies in theaters. In addition, most theaters today aren't equipped to show fullframe, so an inexperienced projectionist may misframe such a film, thereby cropping it to fit the screen. Maybe this is what you saw. Turner Classic Movies recently aired Zorba the Greek, in fullscreen, and I have never seen TCM crop or edit a film. I think it is safe to assume that this film was shot at 1.33:1.
