Is anything wrong with the transfer? It's incredible! And really, I think that just about everything that could possibly be on the disc is on there already. It's a fantastic DVD!

That would be a cool idea, but I don't see it happening. Besides, the disc is great as is.

God please give us a new version.

The current one is great except that it has one fatal flaw.

I HATE that Lollipop kids menu thing! Of all the sections of all of the classic songs in that movie, why, oh why did they choose that song, much less that portion of it?!!?

-Sigh- Yes, a minor concern but it really bothers me.

Different studios? I think they should work a deal out where Dark Side of the Moon could be used as an alternate track. Maybe not on one version only, but maybe a slightly more expensive collector's set? It would have a limited appeal, so there would be no reason to put something like that on a mass release, IMO.

Slightly off topic, does anybody recall when the "news" first broke about how the two went together so well? I recall not soon after that, Best Buy ran an ad with a sale on the new VHS (before DVD's days) re-release of WOZ and customers could get that with Dark Side of the Moon for one low price.

How about what they did for Citizen Kane and get commentary by Roger Ebert, or some other film historian or a group of them?

I'd pick up the new version if it had the original mono soundtrack. Something about taking a 1.0 and making it a 5.1 is just wrong. They could also span the extras onto two discs. That wouldn't be half bad.

Has anyone tried to make a copy and replace the French soundtrack with the English mixed with DSOTM?

Are there any specs for this 2 disk edition? I couldn't find anything on Amazon.

Has anyone tried playing the Wizard of Oz along with the Dark Side of the Moon SACD? I plan on trying that once I get both discs.

Blackie, you should be ashamed you dont' know this one! . There is a long-standing rumor that Dark Side of the Moon is syncronized to the Wizard of Oz (despite the fact that Wizard is two times as long as the album). If you press play on your CD player at the second MGM lion roar, listen to the lyrics of the songs as the movie plays. The most telling sync is that "Money" starts playing when the movie turns from black and white to color.

There you go my friend

Josh I'd say it's more than a rumor. If you've ever done it or even read about all of the things that match up then you've got to see it was planned somehow by Floyd. The tornado sequence even starts on screen when Great Gig in the Sky starts playing. So it's not only lyrics and visuals syncing up but even titles of the songs. And even though the movie is longer than the CD if you set the CD to repeat it continues to sync when played again during the rest of the movie. The first time I did it I was skeptical also but it freaked me out and I wasn't drunk or high at the time.

I don't have a DVD burner but I wonder if you could rip the video and audio from each disc then burn a new disc with this as an audio track to avoid needing to sync and repeat each time?

Clearly I wouldn't have that much info if I hadn't tried it

It is definitely a rumor because Pink Floyd has never confirmed nor denied the allegation. Until they do, it's just lore.

I personally think there are far too FEW syncs to make it more than just interestingly coincidental.

My favorite rumor about this is the "production assistant" that claims that Wizard was running on a screen while the band wrote/recorded the album.

I always find it interesting that people want so much to have DVD double dipped with a disc set when the existing Special Edition is already wonderful. This is the second movie that I have seen people doing this to in the last week along with Young Frankenstein. These movies have wonderful special editions and for the studios the put the time and money into coming out with a 2-disc release that I feel could only be marginally better is such a waste when there are so many other movies out there that haven't even been release on DVD once.

Just my 2 cents.
