Nightmare Before Christmas:SE question
I can't believe it's not an anamorphic disc; my blood is boiling.
Anyone know if it's the same transfer as the current disc?
Personally, I would have preferred an anamorphic disc over DTS.

I am not sure what is going on here, but I just watched my copy last night, it is anamorphic. I just went back to verify this. Did they rerelease it anamorphic without telling anyone? I did buy it only about 2 months ago.

Tim Burton's "Vincent" short is also on the release, which is reason enough to buy it

The OOP print CAV Laserdisc edition has some Henry Selick animation he had done for MTV.

All I know is on my TV if I select 16:9 on my Malata, on a Non-Anamorphic Widescreen movie it will windowbox it. However, on Nightmare (and on all Anamorphic Titles) it is displayed correctly.

I don't really understand it either. But, to me, judging by the way non-anamorphic and anamorphic movies are displayed on my tv, it looks like it is anamorphic, even if it isn't.

The moral of the story is that the movie almost looks correct in anamorphic mode even though it is truly non-anamorphic. Just thought I'd let you know about my dumb mistake (won't happen again on any DVD, I'll just look at the box to make sure what it is).
