Runaway Jury DVD: possible disc glitch?
 

I recently purchased Runaway Jury on DVD only to discover a “glitch.” I was viewing the disc on my Malata DVP-520 and at about 10:55 into the film (~1:54 of Chapter 3), it skipped ahead roughly 10 seconds and gave a “minor disc error-clean me” message.

I, indeed, took the disc out to look it over, gave it a light cleaning, and inserted it back into the player. The same problem occurred at the same place. Assuming I had a bad disc, I returned to Wal-Mart and exchanged it.

Today, I popped-in the new disc, and I got the exact same error in the exact same location! I then proceeded to check the disc on two other DVD players (an Apex and a JVC) as well as my computer. It played fine through Chapter 3 on all three with no issues.

I therefore assume that the disc has some kind of issue that is specific to the Malata, which I find odd, as my Malata has never given me any problems in the past. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem with this title on their DVD player?

My copy played perfectly on my Malata DVP-520.

I will check tonight on my Malata DVP-520 and report back in the morning.

i dont have a malata but i had an issue at about the same mark in my runaway jury disc but to the extent that it completely turned off my dvd player (an old rca) it did it twice and then i put it in my ps2 and when that spot came up again the screen messed up a bit but then it played through it...

The dvd played flawlessly on my DVP-520.

The disc played flawlessly on my JVC XVSA 70 multi-regional player.
