What have you done/are you doing with your VHS?
As I upgrade more and more to DVD from VHS on a number of decent titles, I'm left with a stack of films that are of little use to me. For the non-rare VHS titles, what has been your solution for liquidating your collection? The prices most fetch on eBay are scarcely worth the trouble to post them on there. I'm considering a consignment shop, hoping to make a buck or two per tape there, but not much more. Any suggestions?

I'm keeping all 78 tapes which are films STILL not on dvd. when they are....they will go the way of the other tapes. the tame ones I donate to the public library and hospitals. the more hardcore/gore ones I dish off to a friend. it's really not worth my time to sell them.

This topic comes up fairly often...
Myself, I gave em' all away to friends and family... With the exception of Dawn of the Dead director's cut (to hold me over until the AB boxset comes out), Day of the Dead LBX (might as well keep it now) and a copy of The Wild Bunch (which I use at work when I need a video source).
Other options include, but are not limited to, donating them to your local library, trading them at a local CD or used movie store (pretty pointless IMHO) or trying to sell em' on half.com, eBay, etc...

I've had luck selling a lot of them on eBay, but many aren't even worth listing for a dollar or two. I've given a lot of them away to the doorman in my building who is a movie nut.

Gave/sold most of them. Kept only a select few (SW OT, non-SE).

The last vhs tapes still in my posession are the Star Wars movies and Schindler's List, which will be replaced by their dvd counterparts before the year is out. The rest I have just thrown away.

I gave them away to friends and family, and anything they didn't want, I put in a box and donated to the local public library. They don't have DVD's and they were very appreciative. It wasn't even worth the effort of trying to sell them online.

I've sold off any VHS which have come to DVD, making sure to scan any cover artwork which hasn't translated well to disc, so I can make custom covers. I've only been able to sell them to friends (3 movies for $10).
There are a few VHS rarities I've kept and converted to custom burned DVDs.

There's this video store nearby where they collect old videos for charity. I just usualy give away my tapes there.
My recorded video tapes however, I'm going through now (even as we speak), picking out the nuggets and capturing/burning them to DVD. Then - they get pitched.

I watch them on my 27" TV in my workout room when picture quality and OAR aren't as important to me although lately I've been watching more TV shows on DVD during workouts.

The only ones I still have are the ones that have never (or *may* never) come out on DVD... I'll probably transfer them myself, now that I'm getting into the authoring/burning hobby...
