Is Samurai Jack - The Premiere Movie worth $5.50?

Saw it at Wal-Mart for $5.50 and was interested if anybody thinks it's worth owning. The creator, Genndy Tartakovsky, made Star Wars: The Clone Wars for Cartoon Network. For those who've seen it, what are the "Samuari Jack Archives"?

Studio: Hanna-Barbera
Run Time: 90 minutes
• Extra Never Sefore Seen Bonus Episode
• Behind the Sword: A 10-Minute Documentary with Creator Genndy Tartakovsky
• Samuari Jack Archives

Well...I bought it for 15-20...can't remember, and I enjoyed it. I can't imagine someone being disappointed paying 5.50 for it.

Totally worth it. I love Samurai Jack's animation style. It's very refreshing w/o being ugly and cheesy.

I think I remember seeing this at Toys R Us for 5.99 or something, might pick it up someday. I love the series.

Definitely worth it. Samurai Jack is the most creative action animation coming out of the US that I've seen.

As a casual fan, I'd say it's worth the $5.50 but not much more. I bought it at DDD for about $7 and watched it once. The animation style is the big draw, but the plot of the pilot centers around some seriously annoying dog characters that really kill the replay value for me.

^I'd agree with that comment about plot. My enthusiasm for the show is completely based on style. Samurai Jack has about as much plot depth as a cereal box.

Well, I guess it has about as much plot as a show like, say, Kung Fu did. Same type of deal.

I think there are a few other episodes on the disc, right?

Definately worth 5.50. Wish I'd have gotten it for this price...

I finally decided to grab it when I saw that the box set was coming out. I figured that they'll discontinue this one and I wanted to grab it while it's cheap. Anyway, the extras are pretty cool; I'm quite happy with it. (Snapper case sucks though) To answer my original question, the Samurai Jack Archives is a video showing the development of Jack and several of the characters. Good value...get it while you can.

Yes, the "premiere movie" is just the first 3-4 episodes of the series.

The premiere movie consists of the first 3 episodes. There's a bonus episode as well; so you get a total of 4 of the 11 first season episodes.
