Are the South Park season 1 audio commentaries still available anywhere?
 

I know I'm WAY late on this, but I just picked up all three seasons, and am curious if there's any place to buy the separate commentary CDs (aside from eBay). I know I missed the boat on this, but I thought maybe someone might know of some place at the far reaches of the internet where these are still available. Thanks.

Why not eBay?

Well, I would consider Ebay, but only as a last resort. I just know I'd end up paying way too much for it. In fact, I just checked, and there's currently one auction for $9.99, but the buy it now is for $60 and it's still got over 4 days left. I'll keep checking it, but I'd bet anything the price is going to skyrocket.

Considering these CDs were free, I'd feel like the biggest sucker in the world paying that much.

Don't forget to check the completed items at eBay. They look to go for between $20 and $56 at the moment.

I'm pretty sure that they can be found in the download section at http://www.southparkstudios.com/. I think they are the same as the ones that came with the DVDs but I'm not 100% sure.

I burned them on a CD and also stuck them on my XBOX just in case.

I got my set off Ebay for around $20 shipped.

And while they were free, the DVD set was more expensive when it came out, and there was a $3.95 shipping fee.

Since I paid $23 for the DVD's, my total price is right around what I would have paid if I had bought the set sooner to get the commentary that way.

I just downloaded the first one and I'm five minutes into it. These guys are great and it's a damn shame there's some filthy politics keeping them off any other sets.

Actually, they were only kept off of seasons one and two, when Warner Brothers had the distribution rights. Paramount has the rights now and, starting with the season three release, there are "mini-commentaries" on each one. They are "mini" only for the fact that Trey & Matt start out by saying that they didn't want to talk throughout the entirety of the episode (it was their choice). So now, at last, we have South Park commentaries on DVD!

No they didn't. Only government can censor because only government has the legal sanction to use force. Warner made a business decision about a product they owned at the time. Matt and Trey were perfectly free to express their views at all times, and did so by releasing the commentaries on CD's. So, kindly cut out the "censorship" nonsense. If you don't like a business decision, say so, but don't mislead others into believing it is a free speech issue.

You're a little confused. Yes, it's censorship. No, it's not governmental censorship, which is what the Bill of Rights forbids.

We are censored every day. I can not go to work wearing my Ted Nugent shirt that says "Ted *****ing Nugent" on the front with Ted flipping a double bird, and "F**k you, I'm an American" written on the back. I can't get on the PA system and sing "Unca f**ker" from the South Park movie. So yes, I'm being censored by my place of employment. It's not illegal, though.
