Miyazaki?

Any word on further R1 releases from the Miyazaki canon? Nausicaa, perhaps?

In November there was a new R-2 release of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind with English subs, but I haven't heard anything on R-1. Sorry.

Nausicaa was also released in R3 in Dec. and it can be had for under $30. I think it is the same transfer as the R2 and it has english subs as well. I have a copy of it. Another great reason to go region-free.

Fandango, that's very useful info to me. Can you tell me where you ordered?

I read this in a mag the other day, Porco Rosso has been shown on the big screen in texas, and during that screening they announced that they are working on english dubs for Naussica, and Whisper of the Heart. WOH isn't a Mizaki directed film (though I belive he wrote the script), but IMO it is the best movie to come from Ghibli Studios.

I sure wish I understand Japanese cause I would love to hear and appreciate the commentary track on the R2 Japanese DVD edition of 'Nausicaa'

I just placed on order at Yesasia for the 2 disc versions of My Neighbor Totoro, Porco-Rosso, Whisper of The Heart, and
Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind. Order total was only $97.48 with free shipping.

I hope you have a region-free player as none of those are R1.

Right. As you said, they're Region 3.

Ok, just making sure since you were asking about R1 originally.

They are working on Porco-Rosso(with Micheal Keaton doing the voice) and Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind for a possible fall 2004 release.

Nausicaa.net reported that some titles where supposed to see an April release. That was a while ago, though.
