Layer change on "Spellbound" (spelling bee film)?

On the new "Spellbound" DVD (the one about the spelling bee contestants, not the Hitchcock film), the disc pauses for a few seconds at about 8:25 of Chapter 10. What's unusual about the pause is that it happens mid-pan as the camera is panning over the audiencew from right to left. Didn't know if this was the layer change (a terrible one, if so), or if there was a problem with the disc itself (since my player made a funny "whirling" noise at this point of the film). Weird stuff.

Anyway, thanks for the help.

I noticed this too. Very poorly chosen layer change.

OK, thanks starseed.

I agree, it was truly one of the worst layer changes I have ever seen and wanted to make sure this wasn't a unique problem with my disc.

Same on my rented copy. I didn't think it was that bad because, while noticible, it didn't cut off anything important.
