Colorized(?) Gilligan's Island Season One

Hello,

I was going to pre-order Gilligan's Island Season One
on Amazon.com but the tech info there says it is only in
Color, nothing about the first season being in B/W!
One of the reviewers on the site suggests the shows
may be colorized and may not be released in original
B/W. Anyone know for sure?

How can a reviewer "suggest" the shows "may" be colorized... didn't they watch 'em?

Goofy people I wouldn't get my panties twisted until I read the real deal here.

These early "reviews" on Amazon are about the
series itself and all that blah, blah stuff but I saw
at least one worried that these episodes are
colorized and so when I saw Amazon.com gave a spec
that the shows are in color I began to wonder
myself. Since I have seen Gilligan's Island
colorized for the first season on TBS before I hope
this is not the shows they have put on DVD.

These are definitely the B&W episodes. Warners wouldn't be so stupid as to release the colorized versions.

Early reviews on Amazon are worthless. I suggest tvshowsondvd or the HTF where people actually watch the items they talk about.

The DVDs are in B/W, but some colorized epsiodes were released on VHS a few years ago.

Yep, in Warner's press release, they confirm it's in B&W. Check out the news at TVShowsonDVD.com

Yeah, TVShowsnDVD went out of their way to ask if they would be B&W, and were told "yes, B&W" for sure.

More info from them here and here.

Thanks for the help, everyone! I just bought my first DVD
player recently and so I wasn't hip yet to TvShowsonDvd.
I found this place by a general Yahoo search so it worked
out great anyway, since this place has a lot of interesting
DVD threads.

Keith123 - there are a lot of informative forums/sites out there in addition to this great one. Some of the popular ones include www.hometheaterforum.com and www.thedigitalbits.com.

Still it's hard to beat DVD talk for great discussion and information. Lately, I've been reading a lot more than posting because it's fun to sit back and read what other people are doing in the world of DVD

Exactly. This board is bar none, the best as far as membership, informative discussion, and pace.
