I work from a home office, so my list is abnormally long:

Today (Jack Lemmon Mood)
Odd Couple II
Grumpier Old Men (already seen the original several times)
My Fellow Americans
Airport '77

Tues-Sat: Twilight Zone Gold Edition. Out of 49 discs, I am up to # 3.

Various others to sprinkle throughout week:

JFK
Monty Python Holy Grail
Ocean's Eleven (2001)
Casablanca (Ebert Commentary)
Citizen Kane (Ebert Commentary)
My Father the Hero
Casino
Wag the Dog

The Twilight Zone will fill in all the extra time.

That's about it!

  • Deliverance - Seminal, but just hasn't aged that well. 6/10
  • Casablanca w/ the Ebert Commentary - Interesting while picking nits.
  • Marathon Man - Felt too long. 6/10

    Tuesday
  • The Decameron - Randy but felt disjointed. 6/10
  • Run of the Arrow - Early revisionism but lacks drama. 5/10
  • Destiny - Lang's first really good film. 8/10

    Wednesday
  • Casablanca w/ the Behlmer Commentary - Not much to chew on.
  • After the Fox - A great comedy about film-making. But I get the feeling they didn't let Sellers cut loose. 6/10
  • Hidden Agenda - Very realistic and interesting. 7/10

    Thursday
  • Samurai I - Beautiful and its always fun to see Mifune. 7/10.
  • Cure - I was mesmerized. 8/10
  • Paper Moon - Good b&w cinematography but seems cliche now. 7/10

    Friday
  • Land and Freedom - An idealogical war film. 8/10
  • Catch me if you can - Started great and went downhill. 6/10

    Saturday
  • Samurai II - Too much melodrama, not enough Mifune. 4/10
  • The Last Emperor - History converted into art. 9/10

    Sunday
  • Monster - Amazing performance by Theron. 6/10.
  • Fog of War - A film that rewrites history. 9/10.
  • Zentropa - Some interesting F/X; otherwise tedious. 5/10
