Best: my husband bought me Star Wars 4/5/6 while he was overseas this year, and was lucky enough to find excellent copies. the inserts/covers are hilariously badly written ("Reballs", "Eworks", "Flighting", etc, haha), but the movies look and sound really good. (good enough to have made me happy until we get real releases anyways. )

Worst: blind buy of The Astronaut's Wife. (that'll teach me to buy any old movie just because it has Johnny Depp in it, heh.) omg, horrible movie.

I am like that too.

I pretty much exclude all the under $6.00 DVDs, as most were purchased basically because of their price (i.e. The Pick-Up Artist for $5.50 from WM).

My worst (MBFGL) was actually bought the day it came out for a standard sale price! Those are the ones that hurt!

I've watched it more than any other dvd(s), one of my favorite movies

Worst: A Bridge Too Far
A blind buy, the dvd is totally bare bones, and the movie is really long and boring, its not really a bad movie but easily the worst movie in my collection

Wow, tough to pick just one... but:
BEST: Lost In Space - Season 1 boxset
My favorite TV show as a child (Speed Racer a close 2nd) To finally have the first season on a media that will withstand multiple viewings was well worth the $50.

WORST: The Dead Hate the Living.
The absolute worst film...ever.

BEST:

Finding "This Island Earth" in cherry condition in the used bin for $10.

WORST:
Buying the Mummy Returns....twice.

I bought it used and then was looking for part one (The Mummy). Next day I saw The Mummy in another used shop so I bought that too. What I didn't realize on the second one was that I had only looked at the spine and the word "returns" is so small, I didn't notice. DOH! Rookie mistake....
