thanks for the info. It was definitely on my "buy it when they release an OAR version" list.
A great performance by Clive Owen, the driver in the BMW "The Hire" series.

Yes.. a fairly under-rated actor IMO....apart from Croupier and the BMW The Hire series of films i haven't really seen that much of him since i used to watch The Chancer TV series.
I believe there was talk of him being a candidate for the next James Bond and that he appears in a forthcoming film about King Arthur?

From Image's web site, the front cover.

How accurate is Image's web site regarding specs? mcarver's post says the up coming Croupier DVD is 2.0 (stereo) while Image's web site claims both 5.0 Dolby Digital and Stereo.

Usually Image is pretty good about the specs on their titles. The information I receiove was before Image updated their site.... Will update my info to match their's.

Thanks for pointing this out....

If you have a region-free player, Virgin Megastore carries the R2 version for $11.

This is the Virgin stores in the U.S.? I didn't know they carried any non-R1 stuff.

If the R1 CROUPIER doesn't have the commentary, I just may have to grab that deal...

No, I'm not. Virgin MegaStore has recently added a small import (R2-only) section to their U.S. stores.

See my post above. It's a small import section (located in the Foreign aisle), but many discs are very reasonably priced. For example, Croupier, Secrets & Lies, and Human Traffic: Remixed are all priced at $11. I got each for $8.25 using a 25%-off holiday coupon.

Non-anamorphic? Jeez! No sale for me.

I once had the Film Four R2 version; it was anamorphic and the transfer was excellent. But I had to let it go since I am not a PAL speedup fan. Great movie though.
