Sonny Cheeba's Streetfighter

Thinking of ordering this from Pacific as it is so cheap and i've never seen it. Does anybody know which version is the best? they are selling the Platinum and Brentwood versions.

According to DVD Compare, it says to get the Brentwood version, but does not compare the Platinum version you mentioned. I have the Brentwood version and think the audio/video and extras are pretty good. Non-anamorphic though :(

It says on the Pacific website that the Platinum disc has an original aspect ratio of 2:35:1 and the Brentwood disc is 1:85:1.

Do you know what ratio your version is steebo777?

Dude, get the 10 Faces of Sonny Chiba Box Set...the transfer for Street Fighter is perfectly acceptable, and you get nine other of his movies (including the three Street Fighter sequels) ALL for 12 bucks...its a great deal.

Stevey, are all the films on the 10 Faces set OAR? I would gladly pick that up if they are.

I have the digital gold leisure entertainment 2 pack, with street fighter and legend of the 8 samurai, and I think the transfer was pretty good.

I'm not sure what OAR stands for.

Steve Phillips 01-09-04 01:33 PM

OAR = Original Aspect Ratio, which for these films is 2:35 to 1.

Off hand, I don't remember what the OAR is on my disc, but I'll check later. As SteveyP93 said, the 10 Faces boxset is smooth and cheap, so that would be your best bet all around. I just picked up the Brentwood disc on accident without researching how many releases there are. That was when I didn't know about DVDTalk though, and my DVD knowledge was llower ;)

I got the Brentwood version...nice for $5!
