Amazon.com exclusively. WHY? Look at where I am! Not many companies ship overseas. Even fewer companies are helpful when there is a problem, and even fewer (if that's possible) will ship items early enough so that they get to me at this location, before the release date! Amazon does all of the above. Ship overseas at reasonable prices (I choose the cheapest shipping option), listen and take great action when there is a problem, and - even with the cheap shipping option - get them to me before the official release date.

I used to buy all my DVDs at a local store - CD World in Totowa, NJ - until they wanted $25 for Minority Report on the release day .. as opposed to Circuit City a block away that asked $17 ... and since then I buy most of my DVDs at that Circuit City.
I can support a small business only for so long .. and then their out-of-proportion prices just become too much.

Good new releases usually CC or Target
Not so good new releases , used from BBV
Box sets , Amazon.com ( with STL and not paying tax I usually get the best price here for expensive box sets )

For new releases, costco (I get all my box sets there). I cant get a better deal without waiting for shipping. Amazon is good too.
For movies that have been out a while Columbia House. I'll get the movies I want ,quit and rejoin later when there are more then 6 to 8 movies that I'm needing to get. Works well for me.

Best Buy - new releases.
Circuit City - hard to find titles when my patience is low.
eBay - DVD box sets or obscure titles that can't be found at B&M.
DigitalEyes - DVD box sets or titles at a cheaper price than B&M.
Wal-Mart & Target - good place to go sometimes because price beats that of Best Buy and Circuit City.

My top 4 places to buy from:
* The Right Stuf (for my anime)
* Costco (my mainstream stuff I can't wait for)
* Deep Discount (for the mainstream stuff I can wait for)
* Blackstar (for all my R2 UK DVD needs)

Usually Futureshop (crap service, but unfortunately they have the best selection and usually their prices aren't too bad).
A&B sound are pretty good as well.

Unfortunately, I seem to have gotten over 30% of my collection from Blockbuster. But since I used to work there, I could often get discs for around $8-10 with their original cases and no stickers whatsoever (I would also make sure I got the copies that had rented the least, so it was pretty much like getting it brand new).
Other than that, Best Buy is hands down my preferred B&M (I go there every Tuesday, even if there's nothing I want...many of the employees recognize me...sad). DDD for online. I rarely deviate from those two unless there's some extra-special deal to be had elsewhere.

BARNES & NOBLE
because I have their Rewards Card and get about $300/year in books & DVDs free (more when I have a coupon)
COLUMBIA HOUSE
surprisingly fast shipping, outstanding quality, never once received any product marked up (see below)
HALF.COM
if I have a coupon
And for budget DVDs only
DEEP DISCOUNT DVD
Nothing over $10.00 (no Box Sets, Special Editions, Collectors Sets, Criterions etc.)
Nothing I would give as a gift (twice received marked up and/or used product)
Nothing I would require in less than 3 months
