Mole177 12-30-03 01:11 PM

IMHO use a cotton shirt. Those DVD wipe clothes I bought are like sandpaper to my DVDs.

I use water and a microfiber cloth. never had a problem removing dust dirt, fingerprints with it.

RichDB10 12-30-03 03:23 PM

A bit of tissue and some Iso-Propyl Alcohol (IPA/Propan-2-ol) which i readily am able to obtain from work more than does the trick for me.

succubiss 12-30-03 03:26 PM

purified water and a microfiber cloth as above.

dont use a terry cloth.

i have a DVD doctor i got as a gift, and IMHO, it does more damage than good. use it only as a last resort for deep scratches.

jayson1017 12-30-03 05:28 PM

soap and shampoo. jk.

speedy1961 12-30-03 06:09 PM

Boil it for 2 minutes & remove from hot water and allow to air cool.

With soft lint free cloth, wipe outward from spindle in a straight line.

All contaminants should be removed. Voila!

Not true. There have been plenty threads devoted to this method. Do a search and see.

I would not steer you wrong.

Toothpaste is sometimes used to fill in scratches on DVDs. I kid you not.

Yes, as Speedy1961 said, there have MANY THREADS asking this same question, did you try a search?? If my memory serves me correctly I think there is even a merged thread somewhere. Here are some thread links which were posted by Speefy1961 in an earlier post - back in August!

You know, search can be your friend - plus it can help save you from threadcraps from people who get frustrated reading the same questions coming around every month or two!!

You could do a search for TOOTHPASTE too!

Good Luck!
