Bang! Bang!

Let's hope there's a ton of great promos on there! I thought Foley's promos were very intelligent and entertaining!

I'm wondering about that too. I've heard that the matches might not be in their entirety.

Such a pity that some of these matches are already in WWF Mick Foley Hard Knocks and Cheap Pops as well as the ECW Cactus Jack DVD

examples:

in the WWF disc:

Mankind vs HBK
Dude Love vs Stonecold

In the ECW disc:

Cactus Jack vs Sandman
Cactus Jack vs Mickey Whipwreck

And I'm sure a couple of others were on the ECW disc. Not sure which exactly.

I wish they could have been matches never released on DVD!! And that ECW DVD is/was kicks ass and I even had it autographed!

Other bad points of this 3-disc set

1) censored WWF logos
2) If indeed the matches are clipped, that would be a HUGE evil!!

If the matches are complete I will buy it. After the Flair set I would think the WWE would realize they should be though.

So long as all of those ECW promos are included. In anticpation of this set, I watched my VHS of the ECW Cactus Jack tape, and I've got to say it can be argued that those are perhaps the most important promos in the history of wrestling. It clearly was a step beyond what was done at the time for ECW or the WWF, and made clear that despite the business being fake, there are consequences of taking bumps and they just send chills up my spine. Here you had Foley addressing fans that obviously knew the business was a work and he played on the real aspects of the business and had them eating out of his hands. It's clear that the WWF had to build up Mankind for a few years to get to the point where he could cut similar promos that would mean something, once he did the sitdowns with J.R. and unveiled Dude Love, he was set for life in the WWF.

Sorry for being longwinded, but I"m just really pumped for this one and I can't wait. I hope proper time is given to expand on what his stuff meant and the blueprint that it was for "attitude".

I'm not sure if these are complete matches. I'm just quoting what I read. Unfortunately it's only a two disc set and there may not be enough room to have all those matches on the two discs with the way the WWE does their DVD's.

Um, today is December 24. It comes out January 24. How is that "much less than a month" from now? Hell, how it is less than a month at all?

Here is the trailer to the DVD, I'm so psyched already man! There is a pic of the coverart at the end of it, it sort of looks like a wild west poster with Foley as Cactus Jack going "bang bang". It looks great in the trailer, lots of Foley introducing segments and offering plenty of commentary on all that went on. This could be something special.

Foley is God!

I think this will be great too but I think a 3-disc set should be the standard after the Flair set. For a guy like Foley it should be 3-discs, but I don't want to see a 3-disc Best Of Kevin Nash...hell, I don't even want to see 1 disc on him.

The trailer says 5 uncut hours of Foley matches. His matches were not usually as long as some of the earlier Flair ones, so I can see all those matches fitting in 5 hours.

I never bought a Wrestling DVD before the Flair one, but WWE may turn me into a regular customer with sets like this.
