Universal, I think you need to release one of the all time great romantic movies SAME TIME NEXT YEAR. Anyone else want to see this movie on dvd? If so, let Universal know.

Haven't seen that in ages. Hardly remember it. Just remember the one time she turned around and was pregnant.

I love this movie. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it was released.

Nope

Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn

It is about 2 people married to others
who meet once a year . Movie shows them every five years and you see how they and the world have changed over time.

I didn't think it was a great movie so would probably not buy it if
it were available

i would.
count me in, tho i doubt Universal has much interest.

to me, it seems as if Universal is primarily concerned with people in their late 20's early 30s who are nostalgic for the 80's and to the J6P new release buyers who will triple dip on things like American Pie.
once in a while the rest of us get a bone, like the Jimmy Stewarts and Don Knotts movies.

Yep. remeber this film. Not too bad actually. It's more like a theatre play than a "movie" as most of the film takes place in that one 'love nest'.

Still, this movie came out in more permissive times. Which is why I now find the fact that people still think a movie about an adulterous tryst to be "romantic, quite a hoot!

It was a play first. Ellen Burstyn starred in it on Broadway.

Well, like a lot of romances, its "romantic" because you're seeing it from the perspective of the characters at the center of the affair, and its presented in a very particular way (the fact that they only meet once a year, and it doesn't really show any sex, but rather concerns itself with two people communicating about their lives). Though spouses are discussed, if you had just one cut to the trusting spouse it would sour the audience's sympathy. I enjoyed the film a great deal, -particularly because of the charisma of the players (I wonder if Alda's "Four Seasons" or "The Seduction of Joe Tynan" will ever hit DVD?), and would buy it, -particularly if the actors provided commentary...
