If someone gave you a FS (non-oar) DVD as a gift what would you do?

definitly return it, or exchange it, and then if that didnt work, trade it away... I am not going to watch a Full Screen DVD on my 57" Widescreen TV

I'd say thank you very much and decide later if I'm going to keep it or trade/sell it. is it the only way the film comes? then I might keep it. if not...just exchange it if you can. depending on the person who gave it to you and how sensitive they are....you can explain the importance of ws then or later....after the holidays.

Gift Wrap it and give it back to them and say : WOW what a coincidence! we both got the same gift for each other.Do it slyly though.

Educate the giver on DVD theology, then return it for WS.

I would sell it on ebay at a discount and use the money to buy the widescreen version. :)

Accept it and say thank you instead of being an ass and explaining what they did wrong. If I could exchange it without them knowing I would but I wouldn't say anything about it when accepting the gift.

I was JUST thinking of this too. We have this [lisp] "Secret Santa" [/lisp] going on at work and everyone knows that I like DVDs. Chances are I would have anything they would buy me, and they would most likely get fullscreen if they didn't know (per my great luck.)

If I didn't already own it I would probably watch it too. I'm not that big of a snob.

I would keep it until I managed to replace it with an OAR version.

I'd either exchange it for the widescreen version... or, more likely, for another DVD that I actually wanted (If someone gave me a FS disc, it would probably be as a joke.)

I can't think of a single movie I like that has come in separate full screen/widescreen versions.

Got Indy FS for my bday and exchanged it for WS w/o a receipt. No big deal - and not worth putting the giftgiver in the uncomfortable position of having to return a would-be quality gift over something like that.
