GREAT NEWS.

I had sold my old copy for good bucks before it was "re-released" as the same POS full-frame version, which I refused to buy.

I'll be getting this on release day. A great movie.

About
Fookin'
Time!

EDIT- It was pretty shady of them to recently re-release that POS P&S version, though... knowing that this was coming.

The SE was probably brought about by the bazillion complaints they received over this year's crappy re-release.

Better late than never, Twentieth Century Fox.

I've heard of this movie but never seen it. It might be great and all, but it just doesn't strike me as a title to get a 2-disc Special Edition treatment. Why is it getting one? Just curious, I guess. It didn't make a lot of money at the BO, did it? Just seems like if a sleeper hit (I'm guessing that's what this is) can get a 2-disc special edition, there's hope for big hits like Batman. (I know, I know, different studio, but you know what I'm saying.)

Well Corny, I'm a huge fan of this film. I too wonder why it would get two discs though; what's there fluff up the discs with?

... unless this is Fox's new marketing tool with catalogue titles; "give them two discs and people will buy". You know, kinda like Universal and its catalogue titles getting dts.

I will say this though; it's an incredibly enjoyable film, one that can be watched again and again with no loss of satisfaction. One of the best soundtracks ever and an incredibly sharp script. At least rent it Crnelius; I bet you a buck you won't regret it.

P.S. Batman SE is coming out when the Nolan film is released.

Thank god I almost caved in and bought the fullscreen copy.

Most promising is the fact that there aren't any special features on disc 1 -- meaning (hopefully) all that space can be devoted to presenting an incredible image.

The link, of course, has a full accounting of the special features on disc 2.

Maybe, probably, they could have squeezed everything onto a single disc, but if the picture quality benefits, I'm glad they went with separate discs.
