SNL - the Original Cast?
Recently, there has been some new Saturday Night Live, DVD releases. Chris Farley, Dana Carvey, even Eddie Murphy have recently had SNL "Best Of" dvd's released. Is there any word on a release of the original cast? I know there is VHS, but I am thinking that a Best of John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, etc. cannot be far off. Any word on some dvd release date of these ORIGINALS?

Anyways, to answer your question, I would imagine you'd start seeing "Best Of's" from the originals sometime next year with the rate their coming out now.

Best of Belushi, Ackroyd, and Radner all came out on VHS, so maybe we can hope they'll eventually hit DVD. Full season sets would be cool. There are so many episodes that Lorne has pulled and won't allow to be seen that they'd be incomplete anyway.

The SNL at Mardi Gras episode has also been pulled never to be seen again. I think the Broderick Crawford episode was pulled as well. The Louise Lasser show had been pulled, but they've shown that recently, so I guess Lorne changed his mind on that one.

That's a shame. If anything, he should pull some of the later years that were ass. Unfunny offends me more than anything the likes of Andrew Dice Clay could do (not that he does). What I really would like to see is collections of particular skits. I would kill for a complete Sprockets collection.

Yeah, I'd give anything to see the Milton Berle and Mardi Gras episodes. I wonder if after Lorne Michaels dies his estate will decide to make some huge money with season boxsets.
