Will there ever be DVD players that will skip/fastforward forced commercials?

Just wondering on this. I hate being forced to watch trailers/ads on movies I own. I know there are region free players out there, but will there ever be dvd players that can fast forward through the fluff?

If you're talking about forced trailers on recent Universal releases, press the stop button during the copyright warning, then menu and you'll skip the trailers.

I know in the early days of DVD and multi-region players there were mod chips that eliminated the ability of DVDs to lock out certain functions. I don't know if there are any around these days.

You might have better luck posting this in the hardware section.

Wow, Mr. Salty . . . you and your "forced trailer skipping process" certainly do get around this forum.

If forced crap becomes more prevalent, I'm sure someone will make a player that can skip it. I have a player that ignores the audio button lock-out, so I can change soundtracks on any disc.
