Star Wars supposedly in 2004 - QUESTION
If STAR WARS really is released in 2004.....
Then what will we be yearning to be released.
This supposes that BLADE RUNNER SE will also be released in 2004.
No, I do not have any infor on BR - just supposition and curiosity.

What will we yearn to be released? The non SE Star Wars movies of course.
Other than that smaller lesser known films that only appeal to vintage film buffs. Not a cut down, i am one.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: Fire in the Sky.

I'm pretty sure one of the guys that was doing the BladeRunner SE dropped in at the HTF and said that work was started and then almost immediately halted due to legal issues.
At this point I'd settle for a remastered DC release. I'll live with my Criterion LD for the voiceover cut.

I'm still waiting for African Queen. And I'd like to see anamorphic releases of movies like True Lies, Father Goose, Chariots of Fire, The Great Santini, and others. There are also a couple of obscure movies I'd like to see on DVD: The Americanization of Emily and Colossus: The Forbin Project.
There's always something to hope for...

I can't think of any movie as widely desired as Star Wars by the online community.
We'll all have our own personal favorites that we'll be waiting for, but I don't think that's the same thing as the interest that Star Wars generated.

Non-SE Star Wars. I have no interest in seeing Greedo shoot first in ANH, Luke scream in ESB, or a musical number in ROTJ. If they took those three things out, and maybe redid Jabba, I would almost definitely pick them up (as I like the technical corrections and ship sequences).

Top Gun: Criterion Collection 4-Disc Boxed Set SE
The Dark Backward: SE
Jules et Jim: Criterion Collection (rumoured to be already in progress)
Schindler's List
And of course all of the Disney Platinum and Masterpiece discs - The Little Mermaid ought to be a big seller.

Everybody here would have different yearns as no two people are alike.
My top 2 was always the Star wars Trilogy and Indiana Jones trilogy. I got one wish this week and hopefully get the other next year.
My new wishs would have to be:
Howard The Duck
Top Gun - S.E. in DTS
Duel - back out for good so all who wants it can get a copy
