The Terminator SE

My copy of The Terminator SE has a holographic kinda front cover... I've noticed that newer versions don't.

Why the different covers? The discs are the same, correct? Is the holographic cover more rare?

Yeah, MGM opted for a non-holographic cover after the price drop.

i'm sure they save a few cents not putting the foil on the cover so they nixed it when the price went down

I don't think it was a price issue. The holo cover was cool if you're already a fan of "The Terminator", but it was undeniably hard to make out the details if you were just glancing on the shelf. The current edition clearly shows Arnold on the cover, you would be hard-pressed to confuse it for anything else, even at a distance. I can't be sure, but I'd bet that it all comes down to the visibility.

Nonetheless, the holographic cover looked way cooler! Glad I got it before they changed over to normal print.
