Oh, goodie.

So here's my question: Has the title been modified to "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" in the movie's opening credits as well, or just the packaging?

The packaging, the label on the DVD and the menus on the DVD call it "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" The movie itself still has the original "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in the credits...thank goodness! It hasn't been changed for any of the trailers either.

Give me the tri-ology early I ain't afraid of Paramount what are they going to take my ability to 'walk' away from me, that's already been done. I am not afraid of any big bad wolves as I can bite back with my false teeth for my teeth are like stars...they come out at night. tehehehehe

My complete review is now posted on DVD Empire...not much more in the way of disc info than what I've already mentioned here, but I thought I would post the link for those curious (and since I won't be reviewing this title for DVD Talk):

Sorry guys...can't answer this because I never noticed the reflection in the original version, so I never knew where to look for it on this one (I know it's where Indy lands in the Well of Souls and comes face to face with the cobra...I just don't know if it's a certain frame or the whole face to face sequence).

I will say that I didn't notice a reflection...but then again, I've read that they've only restored the print and not made any actual changes to the original film.

I was going to tell you guys that "in this version, the snake shoots first", but I didn't want to get flamed...

Lucasfilm stated previously that the snake reflection and other visual effects "errors" would be digitally painted out.

Does the title appear as "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in the opening credits?

I don't know if this has already been mentioned by someone, so....

I was looking at the boxset today at work and their is a fifth disc included. It is not inside the boxset, but shrink wrapped on the outside. Here's what the sticker on the back of the set said :

"FREE EXCLUSIVE FIFTH DVD. Raiders of the Lost Ark classic featurette. Join the filmakers in this behind-the-scenes featurette. Not for individual sale. For promotional use only with the purchase of this giftset. While supplies last."

I'll be picking my copy up today. I'll give you guys a review of some stuff tonight. Have a meeting after work but plan on watching the documentaries tonight.

AND FYI...please don't let this turn into a thread requesting places to purchase. PM if you must but DO NOT post places to purchase them. We don't want the stores getting in trouble.

Does this mean that the trilogy is out to purchase already?

In some places...yes. They will have received their shipment already. But don't expect major chains to do it. It's not necessarily "illegal" to do it but stores run the risk of not getting their shipments on time for titles if they keep breaking street dates.

Of course...none of this stops them. And it's such a small percentage of stores that do it that it really makes no difference.

Because Paramount has strict rules about when reviews can be released. i think it's a week.

I'm glad studios like Fox don't abide by such ridiculous rules; I think Paramount's rule is 10 days to be exact.
