Lethal Weapon & 2, 3, 4 @ 9.99 (Best Buy)

I'm tempted to purchase the Lethal Weapon dvd's Best Buy has listed for $9.99. Does anyone know the quality of the video, or should I just purchase the box set?

If 1, 2 and 3 are the special editions, they are good quality. I have all of them and they are awesome. The DTS soundtracks are great too! Lethal Weapon 4 didn't have an SE, but it was good quality anyways.

They are worth purchasing if you like the movies. I would avoid the old releases that still may be in some stores.

Definately, Thumbs up!

Quite the opposite in fact. LW 1-3 are not special editions, they are just the directors cut version. LW 4 is a special edition.

Your right. My bad.

I meant DC. I could not remember if they were called Special editions or Director's Cuts.

Is there any plans to re-do the first three LW movies? I'd love Donner commentaries on them.

Not sure if Warner will do a triple dip on these titles. Actually have they ever triple-dipped?

Technically, they tripled dipped Gremlins. There was the original with Stripe on the cover, then there was a re-release of it with Gizmo on a white back drop. This looks a lotlike the special edition, but it wasn't. Then they came out with the SE. The original looked really bad, so I wound up getting the SE which looked way better.

Incidentally, I just picked LW 2-4, since I already had 1. Great fun action movies for the price.

Forget that. I'd want a Gibson/Glover one.

Yeah a commentary by those two would be awesome. How is the picture quality and sound on the director cuts? Not a bad price for $10 each

Interesting trend here . . . in addition to the $9.99 price at Best Buy, there seem to be price drops all over the place: $13.48 at Amazon, $10.39 at Buy.com, $9.89 at DDD, even $12.98 at Blockbuster Online . . . Any chance this sudden price drop could be the precursor to a re-release?

OK, looks like triple-dipping is pretty rare with them. Maybe JFK is the start of a new trend!
