I guess they think people are more likely to buy it with a little stomach showing?

TomOpus 09-28-03 09:04 AM

Not to mention a totally different face.

Change for the better.

The Bus 09-28-03 09:57 AM

That's awful.

Dunno, but the much cuter shot of Keira Knightley certainly makes it look more appealing.

good job.

PalmerJoss 09-28-03 10:52 AM

I don't mind it--a better pic of Keira is always welcome. -smile-

Matt969 09-28-03 10:55 AM

such a good movie

KTIK 09-28-03 10:57 AM

It looks like they made the other girl have a lighter skin tone.

speedy1961 09-28-03 11:38 AM

Is that Leonardo DiCaprio in the first picture?

Drexl 09-28-03 11:50 AM

It's not unlike the job Universal did on the new version of Weird Science.

Demontooth 09-28-03 11:57 AM

I noticed it when I walked in a record store here last night, there was a huge poster and the color was just off. The face just didn't look right, but it may have been because I have seen the original picture.

I guess before he was "King of the World" he was just "out standing in his field"

nyuk nyuk nyuk :D

I like all the improvements they made for the DVD cover...I just wish they would have fixed the raised arm too...it looks like it's all bent out of shape :)

Is it bent like Beckham? :)

Groucho 09-28-03 12:56 PM

The girl in the second picture looks nothing like Keira Knightley to me.

eXcentris 09-28-03 02:22 PM

This is a disgrace! Tonsil lovers rise up! Who's with meeeeeee! :D

DVDfile have reviewed this recently but sadly seem obsessed with the fact that the movie made money. Undeservedly, in his opinion so he spends a lot of time attacking it.

I don't care if 2 or 2 billion people saw a movie, just tell me if it's any good or not!

A-aron 09-30-03 07:45 AM

Looks like the lady on the left got extensions added, too.

JJE-187 09-30-03 08:13 AM

A friend of mine who knew nothing about the movie thought it was about 2 Lesbian soccer players when he seen the cover :)

The indian chick is now on ER, she's HOT

But is she the World's Sexiest Tomboy Beanpole? ;)

Doc Moonlight 09-30-03 11:33 AM

Kind of a cheat. The movie is about Jess, the Indian girl, but in the photo it is the British (i.e. white) girl who is triumphing while Jess seems to be supporting her. From the photoyou would think the film is about the British girl.

BTW, not to go off topic, but I've got to say that while I enjoyed the film, I've got some basic problems with it. (1) Parminder and Keira are beautiful and charming but their soccer skills are weak and it's hard to believe that they could play competitively on a select team. (2) The film portrays America as the wonderland of Women's Soccer where college coaches hand out full-scholarships like they are free movie passes: no entrance exams, applications, transcripts, letters of recommendation, letters of application, etc. Oh, if it were only that easy...

The original picture made it seem like the movie's producer's were making a political statement about the war in Iraq. I don't blame them for changing it.
