I can't get to it either. From both home and work.
|
wont work for me either.

I don't what's up with DavisDVD, but I can explain the verisign search page some of you are seeing.
As of last Monday, Verisign added .com and .net webpages with wildcards to the web. This means any address that get mistyped or that doesn't exist now gets redirected to the verisign webpage. Many people are upset about it because it's interfering with spam blocking software and can cause misdirected e-mail to no longer bounce back to the sender, among other things. You can read more about it here: All Your Web Typos Are Belong To Us |
I've been getting the Verisign page for a few days now.

It could be that they switched to a different IP address and that the new address hasn't propogated to the DNS you're using yet.
|
Just to throw in my two cents, I'm getting the Verisign page also. I had no problem getting to it on Friday and Saturday.
|
Ditto!
|
FUNCTION DISABLED!
|
Can someone post the IP if you're able to get to the site?
|
The domain expired a few days ago. It seems it hasn't been renewed.
Worryingly it's now redirecting to a very strange place www.davisdvd.com I'm not gonna start any conspiracy theories. |
They better not disappear, last week I won Monty Python and Meaning of Life from them and haven't gotten it yet!
I do normally check them daily, so I hope they come back soon. (...and send me my free dvd....) |
i know the guy who runs it posts here so hopefully he can enlighten us..
|
I started having a problem last night, and still can't get on. One of the best places for DVD news. In fact the only 3 DVD news sites I check are TVShowsonDVD.com, and DVDFile.com.
|
Maybe it has to do with hurricane power outages.
I haven't had power at home since Thursday night and I'm starting to go bonkers! |

Originally posted by emptyhead I'm glad it's gone, they make way too many errors. Just so dvdfile sticks around. :) Still, I like DVDFile, and DavisDVD, and I hope both sites stick around. :) Rob |
Glad you guys are back. One of the best 3-4 DVD information sites on the Web :)
As for errors, that's to be expected until the federal government pay you to employ 50 staff. Which I don't expect they will do. These guys do this for the love of the format so let's cut them some slack! |
I like davisdvd because they are one of the few sites that post Covers (Front & Back) & Menus for the releases. Also I was using DVDFile, but they started screwing up release dates (listing stuff as coming out on sunday, wednesday, almost any day but tuesday) & I keep track in a little folder for releases I want each tuesday & there screwing up made alot of extra work for me.
