wasn't animal house supposed to be in DTS?

I heard that animal house was gonna be in DTS but when I got my copy it was only DD.

Landis probably nixed it because DTS would make it sound too good.

actually, he nixed the DTS track because it would have taken up so much extra disc space, that it would have made the video quality worse...

Too bad. The scenes with the helicopters and the anti-aircraft guns would have sounded great.

Would it really have benefitted greatly from a dts track? I mean, really.

DVDFile review of Animal House DTS Edition:
"The dts sounded brighter, and Bluto's yelling had a much warmer timbre"

no DTS no sale, oh wait I already have the DVD, crap!!!!!!!!

I don't even know why a DD 5.1 mix was needed after all thgis is mostly dialog.
