Whats up with the cover art of Identity?

Are there 2 different cover arts to choose from? The copy I got seems to be missing a face. And the faces that do appear on the cover are not merged with John Cusacks eyes.

Did Columbia decide to make a last minute change or are there two different covers in which to choose from.

Here is the first cover:

Here is the second cover:

The second one you have listed is the original cover art. The second one is the revised art. It was changed a little while ago.

Bah, they both suck. Though the one with the merged heads would have possibly been the worst cover art ever.

THIS is how it should have looked.

Andif I get a red x, well... that's still better than the heads covers!

DonnachaOne,

That one would certainly be my choice for cover. The other two are almost spoiler-ific. Oh, well. It's not a big deal to me either way b/c I'll probably just rent it for one more viewing.

Spoiler:
Whores don't get a second chance!

Here's what I don't get about the new cover: the spine shows the poster we all love. Generally, the thumbnail on the spine matches the cover, but not this time. That suggests to me at one point, they were going to use the poster art for the cover, but for some reason they changed it and failed to change the spine's thumbnail.

i understand the studio's reasoning on having big heads on the cover but now that is doing it that way the discs don't stand out on the shelf at all! now a cover like people vs. larry flynt or the original cover art for identity would definitely catch my eye!

 to both choices

I like the second and third, myself... At least the second is a twist on the big heads thing.

I think the poster cover is more spoiler-ific than the other two. :) But they all seem to be...

Which poster tells us that
Spoiler:
the little kid kills off all his personalities in the end?
I fail to see that in any of them.

i think what that poster meant was that it gives away
Spoiler:
the fact that john cusack's character is the one with split personalities

Not only that, but the back cover's background is red+black fading to white. Hmmm...

Close.
Spoiler:
JC's character is one OF the split personalities, not the one WITH them.

Either way, Cusack looks like Kevin Spacey in those covers.

Why does the dvdempire website of the first link list Identity as a '3-pack'? Is there a gift set I'm not aware of?

By the way, I'd choose the handprint cover.

Bald_Bull 09-10-03 12:17 PM

Too bad there's not a cover that reveals this spoiler...

Spoiler:
This movie was horrible
