Great news. I always loved this show, and thought it was far superior to Miami Vice (itself a fine show).

Crime Story was one of my favorites from the eighties. That one cliffhanger ending is priceless.

Am a big fan of Crime Story And Wiseguy too. I just picked up the Wiseguy season 1 box set. Great set you should pick it up. If Miami Vice is released on dvd that would be a trifecta for me but because of the music rights, I doubt that it well ever happen.

I hope they don't edit the original music like they did on the wiseguy box set. Anybody know the specs on the crime story season set and the price.

Good show. Abel Ferrara (King of New York, Bad Lieutenant) directed some of these.

He directed the pilot episode, which was released on DVD three years ago. I don't believe he directed any other episodes.

Is that pilot episode included in the Season One set?

I am a huge Michael Mann fan, and also loved this series, though never got into Miami Vice.

We got this in the UK some time in the late 80's/early 90's, but it was often shown late at night in erratic time slots.

I never was quite sure if we got the whole show - I seem to remember the last scene I saw was a cliffhanger ending with a plane crashing into the ocean, with Anthony Michael Denisson and John Santucci's characters on board (I think). Was this the last episode? Was the show cancelled before the end, or were there more episodes?

Anyone know?

Love the detail on the box. Chicago Police Department. Season 2, they moved to Las Vegas....

Loved the opening title montage as well for both Chicago and Las Vegas versions...

Hope they use the original music as used on the show....what a waste if not...

Anybody know how much this is at Best Buy or Circuit City? Overstock seems to have a great price on it (around $35) plus I can use a 10% off coupon for it.

Pilot episope is called the bonus episode and the music ans far as I can tell is intact. Watched 3 episodes so far and loved it. All the episodes so far are the ones from Chicago and that is home to me.
I purchased mine from DDD and it was $36.00.

The pilot episode is included on one disc, then the rest of the episodes are spread over the remaining discs. No inserts, with the fold out case like BoB. No specials on the menu - but a great show and the music is exactly as I remember it from when it was on TV...nice transfer....and each episode still has the narration at the start.

My store has is it for around $34....have not seen it at Circuit City yet.

Thanks Randy & Steve for posting your initial impressions of the set. Glad to hear that the music appears to have survived.

Yes. This was the last episode of the 2nd season after which the show was canceled.
