I just recalled today, it was "Life of Brian", one of the reasons I bought a DVD player, as it was and is one of my favorite films. Followed by "Brazil" on the discount rack and "Seven Samurai". Now I've lost count.

I believe my first ever was the Kurosawa four pack, followed by Rushmore, and then Chasing Amy. My most recent was By Brahkage. Not liking it too well, but for free, you can't complain.

I would have bet the farm it was Seven Samurai.

Good thing I don't have a farm to bet, because I just checked my DVD Profiler and saw that it was Chasing Amy. SS was second.

Chasing Amy, the day it came out. Oddly enough, the next Criterion I'd purchased was quite a ways away.
