Holy *****!!!! This one can't get out fast enough! Great artwork too!! What a year for us Leone fans, a first class OUATIA and now the West too. Great stuff!

tonymontana313 08-15-03 03:05 AM

That is one badass looking cover. Paramount gets it right the first time. Wow, how many times can you say that about a studio?

flashburn 08-15-03 05:31 AM

Kick ass cover art!

harosa 08-15-03 06:47 AM

That art is awesome, i had it on my Leone CD a few years back and was pleasently suprised to see it used again.

Cosmic Bus 08-15-03 07:14 AM

Fan-freakin-tastic. :D I was kind of hoping for Tombstone Vista style packaging, but I ain't complaining!

This is only, like, the second or third multi-disc release from Paramount, isn't it?

Rypro 525 08-15-03 07:20 AM

Also glad for the restored mono track

elias 08-15-03 07:32 AM

I can't believe Paramount is releasing a 2 disk special edition at a $19.95 MSRP!

The group assembled for the commentary looks interesting. I'm seriously looking forward to this one.

Oh nice, I've always loved that graphic. It's on my Ennio Morricone Fistful of Sounds cd.

I can't wait for this one. :D

Rizor 08-15-03 11:59 AM

Wow. At only $13 I might just have to get this as a blind buy. I've tried to watch it on AMC a couple of times but after the opening titles when it switched to pan & scan, I just turn it off.

Where are the giant noggins? I want the big heads.

Just kidding.

Paramount hits one out of the park. Great job!

D-Ball 08-15-03 12:55 PM

I can't wait. The commentary looks like it will be pretty interesting.

this looks like the best dvd paramount have ever released besides from the godfather and forth comming indiana jones sets. The quality of the extra's look fantastic and the cover art is sheer class.

theneobez 08-15-03 02:46 PM

I'm guessing this would be a good blind buy?

It could be another Paramount pricing mistake. There is a thread on the store forum about DvdEmpire about them raising their prices quite a bit on up-comming titles from Paramount. I checked and sure enough these Paramount titles that were to have retail price of 9.99 are now listed by Dvdempire as having a retail price of 19.99 and there prices went from 6.99 or so to 13.39 now:

Black Sunday (1976 or 1977)
Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter
Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell

and Dragonslayer went from 10.99 or so to 13.39 also.

I have these titles pre-ordered and OUATITW at Deepdiscountdvd and their prices have not changed. OUATITW is still 13.39 at Dvdempire.com though so atleast they have not changed that price, yet. The msrp of 19.99 does seem kind of low to me for a 2 disc SE of this title.

 Paramount!

November is looking to be expensive, but I'm not passing this baby up.

LeRoy 08-15-03 10:26 PM

Love the cover! Wish I could get a poster with that artwork.

Do you buy Inserts or movies? Please ignore if you were speaking in facetious jest or irony.

Whilst i find it quite irritating if there is no insert, leaflet etc my primary concern is what's on the disc and it's a shame if you adhere to this principle as you'll be missing out on a fantastic DVD judging by the specs and if the PQ/Audio are equally impressive.

Am i right in thinking there is a 180 min version?...if this is the case i'm suprised there aren't any deleted scenes etc.

Without being too specific can anyone elaborate 'roughly' what the added 15mins to the 'original' sustantiate to?
