28 Days Later - R1 - October 21st!!!

Details from DVDFile:

"Even more gory thrills can be had a week later on October 21st when Fox unleashes the British zombie sleeper 28 Days Later. Available in separate anamorphic widescreen and full screen flavors both with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround tracks, extras include audio commentary with director danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland, not one but three alternate endings, deleted Scenes, the "Pure Rage" featurette, two still galleries, storyboards, a music video and theatrical and teaser trailers. Retail is also $27.95."

Sounds close to the specs for the already available R2 edition.

Well....if you wanted to get picky it seems the entire background is one big head. But it still looks like a great cover.

Well there aren't any stars in the film whose headshots could help sell more DVDs.

A cool looking cover will help more than a cover full of headshots of no-name actors.

Coll im glad we are getting this one quickly since it was already on DVD in R2 so i doubt that they had to do to much to get it ready for R1

I'm also surprised there's no big head on the cover. Good looking.

Oh don't worry, this is just the press release cover, by the time this hits video stores, we will see all the 5000 quotes (and hell why doesn't fox put up "this is not a sequel to 28 days" )

I'm sure they will, but it'll just be a sticker on the shrink-wrap, probably right below the "Special Full Screen Edition - NO BLACK BARS!" sticker.

Which ending will be in the movie?

Fox Searchlight will be adding an alternate ending to all in-release prints of 28 DAYS LATER as of next Friday, July 25.
Los Angeles Times

The original conclusion has been available on DAYS British DVD, and will be attached after the closing credits of the American prints.
Is the DVD going to be the same R2 movie released, or the alternate ending in the R1 release?

Thanks in advance ...BMatt

The movie has only one 'official' ending. If you go to theaters right now and stay through the end credits, afterwards they play an alternate ending. This is just meant as a tease. It does not take the place of the real ending.

The British DVD contains this alternate ending as well as a couple of others (one in storyboard format), but the footage does not have a completed sound mix. I expect that the R1 DVD will have the finished version of the alternate ending.
