DTS Version of The Matrix??

Anyone heard of this or know if its true??

Look here

I don't think this is true but if it is I would upgrade mine right away!

If you see a DVD on eBay with a DTS track when you've never heard of a DTS release for that film before, you can be sure it's a bootleg.

I could be wrong, but my padding senses tingle and suggest it might be a bootleg.

FORMAT: NTSC REGION 1 (Make sure your player is multizone capable)
Which also screams "THIS IS A BOOTLEG!"...a bootleg from an idiot bootlegger too. Id have to be stupid not to realize that this meant that the DVD actually wasnt region 1.

Well, it is from an Australian seller, so Australian purchasers would need a multiregion player in order to view a R1 disc...

nice bootleg. That would be a great upgrade for what's in my trash can right now. ;)

DTS matrix?

I think the LD release of the Matrix had DTS. I have several, ahem, 'import' DVDs with DTS tracks on them, and the DTS tracks are usually HORRIBLE.

LD didn't have DTS, as far as I can see.

DON'T SUPPORT BOOTLEGGERS, PEOPLE!

Laser Discs's did in fact have DTS. Jurassic Park, and Toy Story are 2 that come to mind off the top of my head

a lot of asian versions of US movies due have DTS tracks that thier R1 counterparts lack. The trade off though is less extras. Don't know if the japanese have a DTS matrix version or not. Though this dvd looks like an r1 rip with a home brewed DTS track.

I don't think DonnachaOne was claiming that the LD format didn't have DTS tracks. Instead, I think he was (correctly) stating that The Matrix didn't have a DTS LD release.

You'd be wrong:

We've got pretty much the same release you have in the States over here in Japan so there's no DTS track on ours.
Of course I'm waiting for a real one to come out some day....

I misread what was written, above. my apologies for coming accross as rude :)

some much stuff on the matrix dvd that there isn't any space for an DTS track. Lot of people got a dvd player just to watch the matrix. yes a dts track would be great but at a cost of extra's so you do the math.

Give me DTS on a movie like this over extras that I dont even watch anyday.

How many times must it be stated? Warner Bros doesn't like DTS. They almost never include it unless under duress. They don't believe that it is worth the cost of the licensing fees because it doesn't boost sales in any significant way.

Warner distributes their own movies in most countries (rather than licensing them out to local studios), so you won't see a DTS track on any legal copy of this movie in any region.
