Weir's ultra-obscure Aussie TV-movie, "The Plumber", coming on 10/21...

...on a double bill with The Cars that Ate Paris.

The Plumber is an extremely bizarre gem about a "crack" dealer (Plumber) who comes to fix the pipes in a couple's apartment, only to find excuses to continue coming back for more "repairs". I haven't seen this one in ages, but I have fond memories of it. The twist ending is quite clever, as the screenplay opts for counter-scheming instead of the expected violence.

Oh for crying out loud, I just got the R2 of The Cars That Ate Paris last week!

Oh well. It still pleases me, I suppose. I have seen The Plumber also, very very long ago, and remember it being good.

Great news - The Plumber is a fantastic movie, and one I thought I'd have to keep on VHS forever. Very pleasant surprise!

Thanks for the news. I'm a big Weir fan. What studio is releasing this? I haven't seen it announced anywhere yet??

Wow, I've wanted to see both of these ever since I first heard about them back in high school.

Great news!

I think it's Home Vision which means they'll both look really good.

Home Vision is the studio.

I think I picked up this release info from Fangoria's "Chopping List", but I can't provide a link as the website seems to be down at the moment.

Is "The Plumber" as good as "The Last Wave"? It has always been a favorite of mine.
