The version of European Vacation (yes I do actually like that one) that's out is widescreen is it not? Is that one being replaced by a new special edition too or is it just being reissued?

I'm sure we can expect a box set of all four of them at some point now right? Sorry guys, I'm a little excited here, this is some of the better DVD news that I've heard in awhile. :)

European Vacation was done right the first time, though it took a while to arrive on DVD. It's in widescreen.

Vacation WS is coming in August, Christmas Vacation WS in October, and Vegas Vacation WS at some point later this year.

If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be any more surprised than I am right now.

It's my favorite from the entire movie. And one of my favorites from any movie, for that matter. :)

Now that all four are (or coming out) in widescreen, perhaps a box set in time for Christmas?

steebo777 07-17-03 08:34 AM

A box set would be a nice gift for Christmas...

Just read an article at dvdfile that says that the Ultimate Vacation Box Set containing all of the new SE's and a newly remastered Vegas V. is set to come out Sep. 9th. I really wonder about the date since Vacation comes out on Aug. 19th but 2 of them are due Oct. 7th. The 4 are supposed to retail for $19.95 apiece but the box set is only $59.95.

WhattheFFF 07-28-03 12:46 AM

Man I can't wait, hope the box sells well & we get another vacation movie.

I'd love to see them make another one too. The person who'd like it the most would probably be Chevy Chase so that he doesn't have to do any more embarrasing commercials. His career could use a real boost.

According to someone on the other board the date for the set is Oct. 7th to coincide with the last 2 releases. I've already cancelled my Aug. 19th Vacation preorder with Amazon. GOTTA have the box!

masetodd 07-28-03 03:14 PM

Nooooo! They should NOT make another Vacation movie. Have you seen Chevy's face in that AFLAC commercial? Egads! He looks horrible!

The only movie he should make is "The New Adventures of Plastic Man".

Just a FYI that if you are eager to pick up the new Vacation SE, you might want to go over the border and check out the selection of dvd's that border the selection of books at a certain store ;) $14.95 or cheaper if you find the coupon in the dvd bargains section.

I really liked Christmas Vacation, but I refuse to purchase anything in Snappers, except for movies that I simply cannot live without.

I really hate Warner's stubborn ways. They KNOW that Snappers suck, and almost no one likes them, but they just don't seem to care.

Hate snappers myself but what a lame reason not to buy a movie that you want! Purchase some empty cases & transfer it over.
