Halloween 6 and H20 re-release?

I was going to order the Halloween 6 and H20 dvds, but I noticed that at several sites they are both listed as pre-orders that are scheduled for release on August 5. Does anyone know if these are the same dvds that were previously released?

They're almost certainly just price drops, not new releases, unfortunately. Many online retailers treat discs with impending price drops as pre-orders.

Man, I have been holding out on 6 and H20 since I bought the rest of the series for nice anamorphic transfers. Guess I'll just wait some more...

Yeah, I just broke down and got the H20/Mother's Boys two pack. I was always hoping they'd deliver on their promised "Collector's Series" DVD of it, since they botched up the original release so bad. Guess not. You may want to put a question mark in your subject line next time, since the way it's posted makes it seem like you had definitive info on the titles instead of asking a question.

I waited for several years to get anamorphic versions of 3, 6, 7 and finally decided I couldn't wait any longer and bought them (picked them all up for under $10 on Half though). You would think with the sizeable following this series enjoys, that the studios would want to cash-in on it a little bit. Look at all the lesser horror films that have gotten nice re-releases. And besides anamorphic upgrades, how about an extended cut of 6 and the long-promised special edition from Universal of 2? At least we can count on Anchor Bay to deliver with their 25th Anniversay Edition of the original Halloween in August.

I've noticed H20 has been $15 at Best Buy for some time now, are they dropping it lower? If so, it may indicate that SE is forthcoming.

Nah, not necessarily. Prices drop all the time. It's not unusual and is rarely indicative of an impending re-release.

According to the "price cuts" page at Videotropic (http://www.videotropic.com/pricereductions2.asp), the following price cuts take effect Agust 5th:

• "Halloween: H20" from $19.99 to $14.99
• "Halloween: Resurrection" from $29.99 to $19.99
• "Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers" from $19.99 to $14.99

If the MSRP on Halloween 6 and H2O is being dropped to $14.99, you should have no problem finding them for about $9.99 at the more bargain-oriented etailers and B&M's, and similarly Resurrection for around $14.99. That might make it worth picking them up despite their flaws.

They're $9.36 each at Deep Discount DVD right now. I might finally pick up part 6 to complete the series.

wasn't H20 going to be released as a 2DVD SE later this year?
