Wow, looks great! I might pick one up just for my Box sets. If I didn't invest so much into the Boltz racks ($120 for one MM126 and $270 for 2 MM252 Expansions) I would get those racks for all my movies.

No, I have no idea, sorry. It was several years ago.

BTW, here's a pic of my MGM Midnite Movies. I love how they look together.
It doesn't include the double features that were released a few months ago.

Your DVDs look really nice with them separated by studio. The Red Dragon posters are also really cool.

Thanks,

Sadly I still need to matte them. They are getting wrinkled.

Cosmic, one additional question. How sturdy are the units? Would it be feasible to stack one on top of the other? The appeal of the ability to store 400+ DVDs in only a two foot or so width is very appealing for me. Thanks again, I'll be sure to post pictures of my collection later tonight.

They seem pretty solid; it isn't particle board like a lot of other units are. The only possible weak point is the backing. Sorry, I don't quite know what the term is for it... but it's used on tons of media shelving and racks.

Someone on here did purchase two of these Sauder units and attached them together, one on top of the other. They posted pics, as well. It was in the original thread about MediaPlay's sale. Try searching for "Sauder" in the bargain forum.

Here is the thread, Civic. The pictures are not working now, probably because the person removed them from their webspace, but maybe if you ask nicely they can upload them again.

dgc: I've been thinking of picking up some inserts. Where can you get frames for their kind of odd size? (I especially like the Godzilla vs King Kong one )

El Talon: I've always loved the Il Corvo poster (actually I like it better than the US Crow poster). I saw a huge one at a movie poster store in Toronto a couple of years ago, and I'm kicking myself for not getting it. (but then again it was BIG and would have been a bitch to frame)

Here are the pics that I said I would upload. Bear in mind that my HT is still in the works (have the sub and the TV next week). They were also taken with my digital camcorder (sis borrowed the camera).

Anyone in the need of some racks? I've been meaning to pick up some Boltz expansion racks and as long as I have my Atlantic shelves I've had no need to.

Equipment (from top to bottom)
-Panasonic RP-82 Modded for region free play
-Denon 3803
-Sony NV51 VCR
-Monster Power Center HTS3500
-Hyundai Karoake

cultshock,

My G vs. KK is one of my favorite films. A guilty pleasure and child hood favorite.

You would probably appreciate this one as well:

Nothing like a bad KK imitation.

Here's where I get most of my archival framing:

http://www.hollywoodposterframes.com/

More of my favorite inserts (all original). Some hanging in my HT, some waiting to be restored and/or framed:

I've since made a few speaker / equipment upgrades as well as some decoration changes. I'll try to post some new pics soon.

Thanks for the poster frame link dgc! And very nice collection (love the Game of Death one). I'm going to have to start looking for these types of posters. I really like the unique size/shape of them.

I got it from an upscale furniture store called 'Scott Shruptrine' in a supurb of Detroit, Michigan when I lived there. It was in there clearance room, it was really cheap too.

If you like that style of stuff I would recommend Design Within Reach, they specialize in very Industrial Design centric furniture. Sadly most of the stuff they sell is expensive. They do however have a lot of great coffee tables.

If you live in the Bay Area sign up for there newsletter, they often have warehouse sales where you can get some good deals.

Old setup in my apt.:

Bought a house, ditched the dust-gathering setup for wire shelves:

The Xbox is hooked up to a Ethernet to Wireless bridge so I can get on Xbox Live using the Wireless router in my office.

Two video inputs, tons of video connectors:

Wire hell!

Laptop with wireless network connection so I can stream MP3s to the reciever from a server down the hall.

That's a cool script. I wrote my own in php but it's nowhere near as in depth as yours. I'm using guzzlefish for now till I feel the urge to write my own again.
