"at the time"? Sure, I know this and you know this... but there are people reading this thread that weren't even *born* "at the time". Again, I don't see the harm in throwing spoiler tags around that section. But I guess you do...

I mean no offence, but skipping a release you want because you don't like the container it came in is silly. After all, you'll only be looking at the box - what, a few moments? So you don't like it - take the discs out of the box, put them in some spare keep cases, and throw the stupid thing away.

I'll still be picking the set up, although I also wish it had better packaging. I was looking forward to something that would look sharp on the shelf.

I wouldn't let packaging knock me out of buying something I want. If I hated it bad enough, I'd just create my own ...

i just don't dig paying a premium for something i won't use/need, and that i would have to work to get around (create my own box, etc).
just too much being released in the next 5 months. if a studio is going to be 'cute' and release something in unweildly, over-priced packaging, i'll just pass over it for now.
hopefully later it will get re-priced and released in more functional packaging.

Hey! Screenshots of the DVD menus! Check out all those deleted scenes - a ton of missing stuff indeed.

I'm really getting pumped for this release. October can't get here fast enough.

I guess I'm in the minority ... I wasn't that into getting the entire series until I saw the 3D cylon. I frackin' love it! That'll so be in a place of prominence in this geekazoid's office.

Glad to see that at least some (if not all) of the discs are flippers, which will, hopefully, take care of any over-compression concerns I had previously (especially with the first disc, that has the equivalent of five episodes plus bonuses).

The eye MOVES!

Well, isnt THIS cool. . . .

"Does the eye move?" We can't tell you how many times the question has been asked. Well, the answer is...YES! The Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Epic Saga box - which measures a huge 8.5" x 9" - features a lenticular eye, with the illusion of eye movement. So now your own personal Cylon can watch you move around the room.
And some of you guys thought the novelty packaging sucked! Sheesh!

El-Kabong -- great news!

Who/what are you quoting there?

El-Kabong 09-02-03 11:08 AM

Whoops - my bad. That tidbit came from TV shows on DVD.com

What I know about the pilot's 'deleted' scenes. Basically the pilot is show in two ways.
1: Theatrical release & video release - it is what has been released on videos and the older DVD for the last 20 years.
2: THREE TV episodes.

#2 is longer and has more scenes in it than are shown in #1. I guess they figured for #1 that it went too long so they edited it down. With #2 since you are breaking it up, people can sit through more scenes since each part is only 1 hour long.
