Has anybody gotten this thing to work? I have a Pentium 3 500 MHz with 384 megs of ram. Why the $##!@ would they make it so you need a top of the line computer just to run the second dvd in the first place?! Oh well, at least the first dvd works ok.

Because its very high resolution and quality. You have an incredibly low end machine. Sorry, that's the way things work.

Yeah, I know I have an old computer but I'll just keep the dvd anyway so whenever I upgrade I'll be able to see it.

Considering that they recommend a 3Ghz machine, even your 2.2Ghz may not be able to cut it.

If you could play this HD edition on a standard P3 like you have, don't you think more companies would have included a version like this on their releases?

Your machine is fine for surfing the net and running Microsoft Office, but it really isn't built for watching HD video...

I say you go out, buy a Top of the like P4/3.06GHz with say 1GB of DDR RAm, and you might, MIGHT, be able to watch it alright

You know,I was just about to create a new thread about this 2nd disk.
I was acually going to call the thread:

T2 Extreme DVD - False advertising?
I was under the impression that the DVD was HD,not the damn DVD-ROM!
I want to watch this on my HDTV in HD not on my damn PC!!
I mean who cares about that.PC monitors are HD anyway really with the res they are capable of and with a good video card.Hell I can download an MPEG of the net from the 80's and get a great picture with my monitor and video card.

Did I just not read into the specs enough or was anyone else under this same impression?

Yes. HD-DVD does not, yet, exist... And when it does, you won't be playing it on your current DVD player... Sorry.

If you want my opinion, this whole high resolution for your PC version of the film is nothing but marketing mumbo-jumbo.

I know HD-DVD isnt here yet but what I was saying is I thought we were getting a 'high-res' dvd to play on our stand alone players,not our PC.
I havent watched it yet but Im pretty sure the dvd is nice anyway seeing as it is dvd,I have a hdtv,and progressive scan player.
But still,think it should have been more clear.If you see the ad on TV you will see people are led to believe that the 'main' dvd is the 'high-res' one.

Oh well,like you said,marketing mumbo-jumbo and done well in my case

Does anyone know if you can play this on an HDTV with a HTPC? If so I might consider upgrading my PC.

Also, I don't think any DVD players can output an HD signal except that new one that Samsung (I think) is putting out that upconverts standard DVDs to HD.

Sorry if this makes some people laugh, but how can I check out my specs on my computer? I have some general idea of what i got, but I'm definitely not as computer savvy as most here.

If you have an RGB input you could send the digital signal from your video card to the TV with a low loss in quality.

I have a 2.4Ghz PC hooked up to my 57 inch HDTV through the TV's DVI input. Now all I need is the stupid dvd to show up.

I'm sure it will still be choppy on a 2.4Ghz machine but I should be able to check out the quality of it anyway. All of the WM9 HD stuff I've seen so far has been a bit on the blurry side though. I'm not expecting it to be mind blowing.

I love watching films on my comp. BTW, the Dolby Headphone track is excellent. I'm sure in a year or so, I'll have a PC to watch that HiDef version.

The complete Theatrical Version of the film in Microsoft Windows Media 9 series, playable in high resolution and 5.1 sound directly from your PC.

And then at the bottom, it says "Recommended System Requirements For DVD-ROM "T2: High-Definition"

Is there anyone who has been successful playing this on Windows 2000? I have all the other requirements except for Windows XP. Technically it should play but it ain't.
