About Schmidt DTS
 

has anyone else noticed the DTS track on About Schmidt out of sync? i fired this up for the first time last night and i noticed it in a couple of scenes but the scene that put it over the edge was when Warren and his daughter are sitting at the dinner table talking about the possibility of postponing the wedding. i'm liking DTS less and less each day.

Works fine for me. And you shouldn't dislike DTS if a studio messed up on the syncing. You just need a good sound system to appreciate DTS :)

I think WestEndRiot has a legimate complaint. There has been numerous complaints of out-of-sync DTS tracks on a few recent releases (Die Another Day for example, now this) by different users.

Can anyone else reproduce this problem with About Schmidt?

I watched it with my dad last weekend, we both loved it.

I just watched this tonight, in DTS, and didn't notice any problems at all.

i dunno then...maybe its just a jacked up copy i have. mid-movie i switched over to Dolby Digital and it was fine so i guess i'll just live with it.

Could it be that some players or receivers with older processers (or whatever) aren't decoding the DTS as fast as they should?

Are there any ideas for a hardware problem that could be causing this? I'm guessing it's the DVD itself in most cases, but WestEndRiot's problem sounds like it's the equipment, or a bad DVD. In case of the former, what reason could it be?

I didn't notice any problems on my DTS track...

All of the movies listed played perfectly on my dvd player with the DTS track.
