Pitch Black: Unrated VS. R Rated- What Are The Differences?

Title says it all. I knw this is an old copy, but I just received the R-Rated version, and wanted to know what I was really missing out on. Anyone have the scoop?

This is one of those dvd's where the only unrated material is exra character development. No t&a, no extra gore.

As far as I know it's just a few extra minutes of character development throughout that was removed for the theatrical release to maintain the pace. It's unrated because it probably wasn't worth resubmitted it for a new rating.

It's at the start where Tobey Maguire is reeling off a list of suicides and .... Oops! Wrong thread, sorry rotfl

It's extra character development, as has been said above. I was under the impression that it was all towards the start of the movie while it is still daylight on the planet and they are still exploring. Certainly there quite a few dialogue scenes there that could have been cut IMO. As it stands, I'm guessing the Rated version has the better pace as I thought the film lagged somewhat at the start in the unrated version.

Love this movie -smile-

The UNRATED version fetures a few seconds more gore than the rated version as far as I can tell... when Riddick battles the creatures at the end, I dont remember all the guts pouring out when I saw it in theatres as well as some other blood from previous kills.

I cannot wait until Chron. of Riddick next year! :D
