Howard Stern's Private Parts - rerelease anytime soon?
 

I actually like watching this movie but the DVD is just horrible. Has zero extras. Any news of an upcoming rerelease SE?

Stern talked about it a few month's ago. He offered to buy the release rights from paramount (since they were unwilling to do a special edition) So he could release it himself, and add bunches of stuff. He claims to have outtakes, Deleted scenes, and then there's the Additional Stuff that is part of the TV-version, and a whole bunch of footage from the E! show probably. From what he said, paramount was unwilling to sell him the Home video distribution rights. So it's stuck being a bare bones.

Paramount doesn't want to put the effort into a nice edition, but they also don't want to be proven wrong, thats his take on the situation.

GD pigopolists. And they say that without them there would be no movies!

The funny thing is, I find that Howard's personal foibles over the last couple of years (read: D-I-V-O-R-C-E) have seriously diminished the re-watchability of this flick. I mean, it's hard to watch him talk about his wonderful wife and how happpily married he is... now knowing how it all turns out.

I have a feeling I'm not alone. And Paramount probably knows it.

That's too bad. I'd consider buying a SE of this film.

Howard has talked about putting out a disc of just extras on his own, as he owns the rights to everything but the movie...
