Poll about "special" covers
Hi,
Just wondering if people keep the "special" crappy cardboard covers like we see on the new "Die Another Day" DVD and also the new release of "Dances With Wolves", or if you all just toss them in the garbage?! I'm sure that within a year or so that they are going to look like crap anyway. Amazing, after just 10 days in my high humidity here in Japan that the Cardboard on "Dances With Wolves" is warped and buckled!! Thanks for your input! No threadcraps please, just a quick poll! danwiz |
I like to hang onto 'em. I would prefer slipcases more along the lines of The Usual Suspects, but I'm fine with the carboard ones.
Gotta keep them. They were included for a reason.
I'm anal about stuff like that. I keep 'em. In some cases they look better than the cover in the amray.

I keep them as well. They're part of the package, so I'm definitley not gonna throw them away.
I keep 'em. I baby my collection anyway, so wear and tear isn't too much of a concern. Plus, if nothing else, they help to protect the inner keeper from damage.
I must be doing something wrong - my cardboard covers stay in pretty decent condition.
I hold on to em. Like the Reservoir Dogs one. It's the only pink DVD on my shelf. :-)
So far I've kept them, but they seem pretty useless, plus they make the DVD just a little bit less accessible. My Dances with Wolves cover was already slightly tweaked (due to bad gluing job, I guess) when I got it.
Right now, in my closet, I've got a bunch of them (the tins from Disney, and the cheapy cardboard covers for Criterion Kurusawa and Hitchcock collections) |
If this is a "poll" why not make it a "poll?"
(I keep them until they fall apart.) |
Keep them in a box so they don't get damaged. Put the sturdy amaray cases on the shelf.
I keep 'em. They just sit on the shelf and the only wear is me pulling them out of the sleeve once in a while. My DVDs are firmly entrenched on their shelves....not a lot of loose space, so they're not likely to expand or buckle in and of themselves.
