How "Limited" is the new T2 Extreme Edition Case?

Subject asks the question.
I preordered mine from DDDVD and after emailing them about not shipping yet, I received a reply that said they won't get stock back in until the 20th of this month.
I know there's problems with getting the cover off but I want the metal cover.
Just wondering if I should cancel my order if the re-stock will not have the original metal cover.
Thanks in advance.

I would just go to a local store and try to pick one in good condition. (good luck with that!)

Kind of a long walk for me
So I'll email mom and ask her to pick one up for me.

If it's anything like the Ultimate Edition, I wouldn't worry about not getting the metal cover. They were available for quite some time after their initial release.

As a side note, I just emailed DDDVD about my copy as well and they told me they were expecting them on the 17th. Still, the price is right and I have 2 versions of this movie at home anyway, so I'm not in a hurry. I'm mostly just worried that it will be damaged during shipping.

I don't think there's a Target in Tokyo, so I doubt that will help him.

chances are great that your DDD shipment will be packed carelessly, using the cheapest means possible (bubble wrap and media/standard rate). i've gotten some pretty beat up packages from them in the past. but i guess you can always buy another one at retail if that happens.

I know I sorted through some 20-30 before I found one that I thought was in acceptable condition. I can't imagine just a whole lot of people getting flawless cases by mail order.

Yeah, they're few and far between this side of the Pacific. I emailed good ole' mom and asked her to pick one up for me. If she gets one I'll cancel my DDD order.
Thanks for the help guys!

My guess is that with this and a lot of other "Limited Editions", it just means that it's limited to the number they physically churn out - in other words, yeah it's limited... limited to probably only several million.

Yeah, like the "limited" Mr. Brown Reservoir Dogs. I can't walk through a B&M store without seeing QT's ugly mug.
